Chiang Mai
Northern Thailand · Lanna culture
Old-city temples and craft streets sit below Doi Suthep and a wider mountain region. Balance built heritage with gardens, community visits, or signed nature routes chosen for current conditions.

Phuket
Andaman Sea · Island province
Phuket has both resort coast and an architecturally distinctive old town. Select a beach area to match the desired pace, then add viewpoints and marine trips only when sea and weather conditions permit.

Krabi & Railay
Andaman Sea · Limestone coast
Krabi’s signature is vertical limestone meeting coral water. Ao Nang is a practical boat base, Railay provides the dramatic peninsula landscape, and longer stays can extend toward Ko Lanta.

A balanced first route
One core, one extension
Bangkok by river
Group the palace and major temples, then reserve separate time for markets, museums, and neighbourhood food.
Ayutthaya
Travel early for a full historical-park circuit or stay overnight for quieter evening light.
Northern option
Fly or take the train to Chiang Mai for old-city temples and one mountain day.
Coastal option
Choose Phuket or Krabi as the main base and cross between them only if weather and time support it.
